We have a cat named Smudge that travels between the house and the shop. A lot of regulars walk by just to say hello to her these days. She has become our unofficial mascot.

But lately she has started climbing. Higher and higher it seems. Between pieces of furniture with huge household chasms.

They never seem to miss though. That first jump from one to the other never fails to be incorrect in trajectory or length. And there they are – on some piece of furniture that they shouldn’t be on.

If we were to make a similar jump, either from a job, marriage or a bad situation, we would could it a leap of faith.

But how do we know that we don’t have an innate knowledge, that sense of what is right, to make the jump and fall on our feet?

How many of us find out? I made that jump once and the outcome has proven to be more than successful.
