About Stephen

I was an IT professional for twenty years before deciding to lead a more creative life.  I have always loved the idea of writing novels and had written four when Long Lost Song came along, demanding to be published.

This is my first but will not be my last.

I live in Victoria with my wife, two children and a mad cat named Smudge.  I have travelled, am an avid reader and enjoy listening to a wide range of music.  I also play guitar really badly.

I hope to post blogs that are interesting and start to show off some of my writing at the same time, as well as promoting other authors through interviews and reviews.

  6. Dear Stephen,

My name is Laura and I work as a publicity assistant for Chalke, a freelance publicity and consultancy agency, which specialises in promoting authors. We look after various bestselling authors, including Saul David, Patrick Bishop and William Dalrymple.

Endeavour Press, the UK’s leading independent publisher of digital books works with Chalke to help raise the profile of their authors and generate publicity campaigns. We are currently looking after the following Endeavour Press authors which may be of interest to your blog/website and be suitable for a prospective author interview. However, please do consult the Endeavour Press website at http://www.endeavourpress.com should any of their other authors take your interest and we can look at arranging an author interview with them also.

Therefore, please take a look at the following authors and let us know should you be interested in interviewing them for your blog/website:

Humphrey Hawksley has been a BBC correspondent specialising in Asia for many years, and has reported from troublespots such as Kosovo and Iraq. In the 1980s he was in India, the Philippines and Sri Lanka – from where he was expelled while covering the Tamil war. From 1990 he was based in Hong Kong and in 1994 moved to Beijing to open the BBC’s first television bureau in China. He is the author of several novels including Red Spirit (an explosive geo-political thriller that uncovers the history and secrets of China) and Absolute Measures (a heart-pounding, high-concept, prophetic thriller that focusses on family, terrorism, and global politics).

Richard Foreman is the author of numerous bestselling historical novels and crime fiction kindle books, the owner of Chalke Authors and the Publishing Director of Endeavour Press. His books include Augustus: Son of Rome (a superb story drenched in both blood and wisdom that forges action and adventure with politics and philosophy) and the Raffles series of historical crime novellas (classy, humorous and surprisingly touching tales of cricket, friendship and crime).

Should you be interested in reading any of our ebooks before conducting any interviews please do let me know and I shall send you the manuscripts.

Many thanks and I look forward to your response,

    Laura

  7. Hi, Stephen. Thanks for following my blog. I’m surprised you followed my Japan blog, rather than my writing blog. I hope you enjoy what you see there. I’m enjoying reading your blog, especially the interviews. I find them very interesting.

  8. Hello!
I received your blog site from Bookbuzzer, who had you listed in one of their monthly promotional newsletters. I hope you don’t mind, but I took a look at your site and it seems you might have some use for reviewing a book I represent?
My name is Derek and I am the marketing director for World famous and award winning Indian author Kamla Kapur. Over the course of Kamla’s amazing life, she has published several books, including the best sellers Ganesha Goes to Lunch and Rumi’s Tales from the Silk Road. She also has published two critically acclaimed books of poetry, and has written and seen put into production several plays.
Her next book, THE SINGING GURU: LEGENDS AND ADVENTURES OF GURU NANAK, THE FIRST SIKH, is scheduled for release by her long time publisher Mandala, on March 17th, 2015. I would like to offer you a chance to review it now, if interested. The Singing Guru is a story that weaves both fact and legend together into a highly symbolic and powerful spiritual narrative. It’s not only a great insight into Indian religion and mystical thinking, but it’s something that anyone with an interest in world religion or spirituality could enjoy.
If you are interested, kindly get back to me at your earliest convenience. Mandal has arranged to have ebooks in both epub and mobi versions available, as well as pdfs or if you need an actual book, I can arrange for an ARC as well to reach you. Please let me know what you would prefer. If you request an ebook, I can get this to you immediately.
Thank you for your time and I hope to hear from you soon. It would mean so much to Kamla if you could take the time to review what will surely become her next best seller and offer your thoughts, insights, and of course, written exposition on her incredible story.
